Top Trump official roasts gloating California gov. candidate after Swalwell exit

News RoomBy News RoomApril 13, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

One of the Department of Justice’s top prosecutors took a shot at California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter for boasting about a glowing endorsement she received after the emergence of bombshell sexual assault allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon reshared a post from Porter in which the candidate touted a piece written by a San Francisco political columnist that suggested “rallying around Porter.”

“You’re a freak too,” the top Trump official wrote on X.

The mocking note came after Swalwell suspended his campaign for governor after four women came forward alleging he sexually assaulted them. Swalwell was leading in the polls among Democrats, plunging the party into chaos ahead of the June 2 primary.

Porter made headlines last year for her outburst at TV a reporter before being exposed for berating a staffer and throwing a tantrum during a televised interview.

Porter had threatened to walk out of an interview with a local CBS reporter in October because she didn’t like a question. Footage later emerged of her screaming, “Get out of my f–king shot” to a staffer who has wandered into the background of a 2021 video call.

Porter has been accused of being abusive for some time.

Porter’s ex-husband said the California Democrat frequently abused him verbally and threw “toys, books, and other objects” at him during their marriage — even pouring scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head during a fight, according to divorce records.

Matthew Hoffman, who filed for divorce from Porter in 2013, said in a request for a restraining order in April of that year that he was “routinely” called a “f–king idiot” and “f–king incompetent” by his rage-prone spouse, who was also accused of shattering a glass coffee pot on their kitchen counter in March 2012 when she felt their house wasn’t clean enough.

“She would not let me have a cell phone because she said, ‘You’re too f–king dumb to operate it,’” Hoffman said of Porter.
