Daniel Neeleman and his wife, Hannah Neeleman, are not shutting the door on expanding their family after welcoming baby No. 9.
“This is kind of a big milestone for us,” Daniel told GQ in an interview published on Tuesday, April 7. “Nine feels surreal because Hannah’s one of nine, I’m one of nine. I think we always kind of had this magical nine number in our head that we wanted to get to. Now, who knows? Are we done? Is there more? We don’t know.”
He continued, “I mean, it’s still too early to decide that, but right now, we just feel really blessed that we’ve had these nine healthy babies and each one of them has been so unique, so special, and have contributed so much to the family in their own individual ways. When we were expecting this ninth one, everyone was just so excited to see what’s this baby going to be like? What’s their personality? What’s their hair color?”
Daniel and Hannah rose to fame sharing their life online with her @ballerinafarm handle, which is also the name of the couple’s farm in Utah. The pair announced in February that they were expecting their ninth baby, sharing one month later that their little one had arrived.
“Wanted to hop on here and say that last night we had a new addition to the family. Baby No. 9. [We are] so happy about [it],” Hannah said in a TikTok video at time, while Daniel panned the camera to show their newborn resting in his wife’s arms.
One month after their baby girl’s arrival, Daniel and Hannah revealed that they still had not settled on a name for their child.
“I think part of our problem is, I think we have a really good name list going. … It’s a little too good, so we’re having a hard time choosing a name,” Hannah said in a Monday, April 6, Instagram video. “We tried these names out. Actually, I think there’s a few different reasons why we have had a hard time naming the child. This pregnancy, I didn’t find out the gender, so it was just a baby in there. But I really felt strongly it was a boy, I was getting total boy vibes. I wanted to do a Jr., like a Daniel Jr. But then it came out a girl.”
She continued, “We did have a girl name too, but we didn’t have a specific one. I think that makes it hard when you’re not calling your baby it’s name in the womb, then I feel like it just is really hard when they come out because it’s like, ‘Are they that? Are they not that?’”
While Daniel noted that their eight other children “all have their opinions” on the names, he and Hannah told their kids, “This is not a democracy.” Daniel then noted that he and his wife have been calling their daughter Imogen, which Hannah said she “really” likes.
“That’s our name update. We have been calling her a name for the past few days that we’re going to try out and see if it sticks. If it sticks, then we will announce it soon. If not, I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up. So we are just keeping it chill,” Hannah said.
She captioned the post, “Wanted to give you all a name update for baby girl. Naming children is not for the faint of heart, but we’re getting closer.”
