It’s all Kenneth Walker in the Seahawks backfield.
The fourth-year ball carrier is the clear RB1 for Seattle after Zach Charbonnet went down during their divisional-round win over the 49ers.
The betting public has been hammering the Over on all of his props ahead of Sunday’s Big Game against the Patriots, but it’s tough to argue against the newfound bellcow.
In their win over San Francisco, Walker went for season-highs with 116 rushing yards on 19 attempts.
A week later against the Rams, Walker matched that season-high for handoffs, making it clear Klint Kubiak will rely on him in the Super Bowl, although he only went for 62 yards on the ground.
Kubiak doesn’t really have much of a choice in the run game.
In the NFC Championship game, the Seahawks handed it off to third-stringer George Holani three times, which was a number only eclipsed twice this season, both of which were blowouts.
I doubt that’s happening a third time.
The run game isn’t the only way Walker has impacted the game of late.
Walker has been an absolute beast through the air, averaging 36.8 receiving yards over his last five games.
It doesn’t take much for him to get there, too, with his big-play ability.
In each of his last three games, Walker has had a catch of at least 15 yards.
Betting on the NFL?
With so many ways to get there, I like Walker to approach triple-digit multipurpose yards.
His speed puts him only a few broken tackles from getting there.
