Kyrsten Sinema accused of being a homewrecker, pushing her ex-bodyguard to take molly in bonkers lawsuit

News RoomBy News RoomJanuary 15, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — Kyrsten Sinema’s famous independent streak impacted her former bodyguard’s fidelity, his ex-wife alleged in a bonkers lawsuit against the ex-senator.

Heather Ammel, a mother of three and ex-wife of Sinema’s former bodyguard, accused the Arizonan of destroying their 14-year-long marriage by sustaining an affair with him during their trips together around the world, and getting him to do psychedelics.

“Prior to [Sinema’s] actions, Plaintiff and Mr. Ammel were happily married and genuine love and affection existed between them,” the wild lawsuit alleged.

“As a direct and proximate result of [Sinema’s] intentional and unlawful actions, such marital love and affection was alienated and destroyed.”

Heather filed the suit from her home state of North Carolina, which is one of a few states that have a so-called “homewrecker law” on the books that allows people to sue their ex-spouse’s mistresses.

She is seeking over $25,000 in damages from the former senator in the suit filed in September that reached federal court on Wednesday.

Matthew Ammel, a veteran who suffered post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries from his multiple deployments to the Middle East, began working on Sinema’s security team in 2022.

A little over a year later, Sinema’s former head of security resigned due to concerns that the ex-senator was “having sexual relationships with other security members,” the suit alleged.

“She encouraged Mr. Ammel to leave with her, but Mr. Ammel decided to stay due to the financial security,” his ex-wife’s lawsuit claimed, referring to the former head of Sinema’s security.

Not long after that, Matthew accompanied Sinema on a jaunt to Napa Valley, California, and later acknowledged that “it would have appeared as if they were on a romantic getaway” to any nearby observer, per the lawsuit.

Sinema, who is bisexual, and Matthew began to communicate much more frequently, to the point Heather noticed him Signal messaging the then-senator, including when he was at home with his children.

“The messages exceeded the bounds of a normal working relationship and were of romantic and lascivious natures,” the lawsuit alleged. “Plaintiff discovered messages which included a picture of [Sinema] wrapped in a towel.”

The former senator had offered to help Matthew work through mental health challenges, and she allegedly suggested he try MDMA, also known as the “love drug,” ecstasy and molly.

Notably, Sinema has since become a staunch public advocate for the use of psychedelic therapeutic treatments following her departure from the Senate last January.

In one exchange, Matthew “messaged about having sex missionary style with the lights on, and [Sinema] stated “Boring!” per the lawsuit.

It’s not entirely clear how Heather got access to those messages.

“During his free time, Mr. Ammel attended a baseball game by himself, but messaged [Sinema] during the game stating he was going to start a ‘f— the troops’ chant,” the lawsuit further alleged. “[Sinema] responded stating she would ‘f— the hot ones.’”

Sinema then allegedly began buying gifts for Matthew and paying for him to receive psychedelic treatment. She invited him as a guest to a wedding as well as a Taylor Swift concert, and he brought one of his children to the US Capitol for a tour, the suit claimed.

Heather and Matthew separated in November 2024.

“Beginning in or prior to 2023, Defendant, with actual knowledge of the Marriage between [Sinema] and Mr. Ammel, began to willfully and intentionally seduce, entice, and alienate the affections of Mr. Ammel,” the suit continued.

“And began to wrongfully and maliciously deprive her of the warmth, companionship, love, affection, consortium, society, financial contributions, services, and attention of Mr. Ammel.”

The Post reached out to a lawyer for Sinema and attempted to contact her directly.
