White House believed Marjorie Taylor Greene may have tipped off Code Pink ahead of DC Trump confrontation

News RoomBy News RoomJanuary 9, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene should not expect a wedding present from President Trump.

The former allies’ relationship has deteriorated to the point that White House officials told the Secret Service that they believe the Georgia Republican tipped off Code Pink protesters that the president would be dining at a DC restaurant ahead of a viral confrontation this past September, The Post has learned.

The administration’s suspicions were first reported Friday by Axios.

The president opted to nosh at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab about a block from the White House Sept. 9 to tout his crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital.

But the evening went awry when members of the far-left group gathered around Trump’s table and chanted: “Free DC, Free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time.”

Greene had recommended Joe’s to Trump, according to a source familiar with the situation, and the president’s dinner plans were not publicly announced.

The White House also noted that Greene has touted her friendship with Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin in the past, writing on X Dec. 10: “I have enjoyed a friendship with Medea for a few years now even though politics says that’s not allowed.”

“Marjorie is closer with the hosts of ‘The View’ than the president,” a former senior administration official said of Greene’s turn away from Trumpworld.

Greene, who resigned her House seat Monday, angrily denied that she dimed out the president and threatened to sue Axios in a lengthy X post.

“They are mad at me for telling the truth about the President and forcing the release of the Epstein files. Now they are making up horrific lies about me!!,” the 51-year-old wrote.

The former congresswoman also insisted that she only knows Benjamin in passing and accused the Secret Service of not doing its job properly.

“Code Pink was in the restaurant because the WH and Secret Service did NOT sweep Joe’s, did NOT set up metal detectors and check everyone in the restaurant, and did not do any of their normal security protocols that they do at every public event he attends!!! Only the WH set up President Trump’s reservation at Joe’s, NOT ME!! I had ZERO knowledge of when his reservation was! The only people who could have tipped off Code Pink was the restaurant or the WH!,” she wrote.

“This is a dangerous false accusation against me that is 100% false and you and Axios should never publish such a horrific lie!!! Anyone saying this is true is absolutely lying!!!”

Neither the Secret Service nor Benjamin immediately responded to a request for comment.

Trump and Greene’s relationship turned sour when the president tried to dissuade her from running for the US Senate from Georgia — sending her polling data showing she couldn’t beat Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff.

Greene later ruled out running for the seat and claimed she never spoke to Trump about the contest.

The Georgian — along with three other House Republicans — later signed on to a successful House discharge petition to release files about the Jeffrey Epstein case, a move that angered the president.

In the weeks that followed, their relationship became openly hostile and the president withdrew his political support for her in November. Greene, for her part, turned from loyal Trump supporter to major Trump critic, blasting him for his foreign policy and his handling of the Epstein files.

Trump, for his part, called her “stone cold liberal” and nicknamed her “Marjorie Traitor Brown,” which he said was “because green turns to brown under stress.”

Greene claimed Trump made her a target, telling “60 Minutes” in December that she received death threats after the “Traitor Brown” jab.

The former congresswoman has since returned to Georgia, where she is planning her wedding to fiance Brian Glenn, a former White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice.
