It was exactly 1 p.m. Christmas Eve, and the Giants were just beginning their first full practice of the week for their second-to-last game of this miserable losing season.
And belting through the speakers in their indoor practice facility was: “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,’’ the popular Christmas song by crooner Andy Williams.
The song choice screamed of irony considering this year has been so short on wonderful times for the Giants, who’ll take their 2-13 record and nine-game losing streak to Las Vegas on Sunday to play the 2-13 Raiders, also mired in a nine-game losing streak.
One of the very few wonderful pieces to this otherwise forgettable season for the Giants has been rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who happens to be coming off his worst performance as a pro in last Sunday’s loss to the Vikings.
