I’m a celebrity injector — 5 trends to stay away from, including one I haven’t changed my mind on in 10 years

Scroll with caution.

Influencers always seem to be touting the next big thing when it comes to aesthetics, from cutting-edge radiofrequency treatments or brand new injectables — but one A-list injector with a roster of celebrity clients isn’t one to jump on the bandwagon.

“For me personally, I have been in the industry for 10 years and I tend to stay away from trendy treatments in general,” Anush Movsesian, whose clients include Hilary Duff and Kehlani, told The Post. “Anything that goes viral on social media or is given a trendy name typically is something that will over-promise and under-deliver which is something I am inherently against.”

She told The Post which five trends she’s staying away from — and her actual must-have for reliable anti-aging.

Barbie Botox — or “TrapTox” in the trapezius muscle — is used to relax tension in the upper back and neck. The result is a slimmer, more contoured-looking neck and neckline.

The “Russian lip technique” involves hyaluronic acid fillers injected lips vertically instead of plumping them up.

And Botox is used for plenty of things, but some women are injecting it into their feet — nicknamed “Stiletto Botox” — to ease high heel pain.

“These treatments might sound fun and enticing when they go viral on social media, but just as you wouldn’t follow a trend when it comes to treating a medical illness, aesthetics is still a medical practice and should be taken seriously,” said Movsesian, who has a year-long waitlist for new clients.

The Plasma Pen is also on her “don’t” list.

“It promises to give patients a lift, but does not deliver. And oftentimes you are actually left with pigmentation on your skin that can last for months,” she said.

Then there’s one trend that’s stuck around for a while — but she still won’t budge on it.

“I never say never, but in the 10 years I have been practicing I still have not changed my mind on threads,” she said.

“This is because there is a very small population of people who will benefit from the treatment, and I like to deliver results.

“In the case of threads, promising results is not possible. You have to be a very specific candidate and several factors such as age, elasticity of skin, area of treatment, thickness of skin and more play a big role.

“And even then, the treatment is not “one and done,” meaning you will need multiple sessions to possibly see results. Those aren’t the kind of treatments I like to do.”

Want reliable anti-aging results? Stick to “consistent and proper skincare with active ingredients.”

“This means retinol, vitamin C and SPF,” she said, citing the big three that pros promote time and time again.

Retinol’s been called the “gold standard” in anti-aging since it can increase cell turnover, smooth texture, improve pigmentation and stimulate collagen.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that combats free radicals, meaning it’s great for wrinkles, sun damage, dark spots — you name it.

And of course, SPF is the must-have that too many people forget, protecting your skin from damaging UV rays — which are a threat year-round.

“Everyday application of skincare and prioritizing your skin health can work wonders and is actually more important than spending thousands of dollars on injectables or skincare treatments. If you do not take care of your skin at home, the rest will not be as effective and can even be a waste of money,” Movsesian said.
