Baby formula company slashes prices for SNAP-eligible families amid government funding chaos

As politicians in Washington, D.C. drag out a budget debacle, one baby company is offering a formula fix.

It’s been almost a month since the federal government shutdown, and the impact is already being felt across the country. In several states, Americans will start losing their nutrition assistance benefits on Nov. 1. However, some companies are stepping up to help the most vulnerable population — babies.

Bobbie is on a mission to make sure that little ones are fed while funding is up in the air. The organic infant formula is slashing prices in half on its popular infant formula for all SNAP-eligible parents. These purchases can be made through EBT, the electronic benefits system that works like a debit card.

Bobbie’s direct-to-parent discount comes at a challenging time for low-income families who will soon lose access to their food stamps. Baby formula is considered an eligible food item under SNAP. For millions of families, formula is their first or only choice for feeding their babies.

High-quality formula doesn’t come cheap — a year’s supply can run up to $2,280, depending on a baby’s intake. Bobbie’s prices are at their lowest ever, making it possible for some parents to cover the cost out of pocket. It’s unclear how long the deal will last.

Bobbie’s European-style Infant Formula is now $14 a can, and a three-pack is just $42 before shipping. Shoppers can upload their SNAP Eligibility letter to confirm they are eligible for the offer.

This isn’t the first time Bobbie has made philanthropic moves. The company recently made headlines after naming Cardi B its Chief Creativity Officer. The rapper and mother-of-three has since helped Bobbie advocate for material healthcare and paid leave programs.

“At Bobbie, we know parents have enough stress. And as a mom, I know feeding can’t wait on funding,” Laura Modi, Co-Founder and CEO of Bobbie, stated in a press release on Oct. 24.

Madison LeCroy is also a big fan of the brand.

Ultimately, it was LeCroy’s husband, Brett Randle, who suggested Bobbie.

“He’s got seven brothers and sisters, and everybody has kids, and they gave him some recommendations, and one of them was Bobbie. I trusted that. I did the research and it’s a ten out of ten for me,” the “Southern Charm” star told The Post.

When the recent government shutdown began, Bobbie’s social impact program also donated $850,000 worth of infant formula to the area surrounding its Ohio manufacturing facility.

“While they’re shutting down, we’re stepping up to support families who are days away from having to pay for these essential goods without the support they are qualified for,” Modi added.

As over 40 million SNAP recipients are left to navigate the consequences of the shutdown, Bobbie hopes to help bridge the gap with direct discounts and larger donations.

The company also emphasized that it believes access to essential nutrition is a bipartisan issue and that it should remain a top priority.
