Prepare for bumpy waters ahead as The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City take on Below Deck Down Under.
“We didn’t know what we’re in for, but wow. What a wow,” Captain Jason Chambers exclusively shared with Us Weekly before the crossover event begins airing on Bravo Tuesday, October 28. ”What a way to start a season, I’ll tell you. To be quite honest, there’s a lot going on now. There’s a lot happening, and I don’t think you could fit that much into a three-day charter.”
On the Tuesday, October 21, episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, viewers learned that Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Mary Cosby, Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas and Britani Bateman would be packing their bags and experiencing the yacht life with Jason’s team. (Bronwyn Newport’s involvement on the trip is TBD after renewed drama with Lisa.)
While the ladies raised eyebrows with their preference sheet requests, Jason teased that it was only the beginning of an unforgettable trip.
“They are No.1. They’ve taken it to a new height,” he joked to Us about his famous charter guests leaving a lasting impression. “I don’t think we’ve had [that] much drama go on, [but] it was so much fun too. I don’t know how much I can say, but from some injury happening, I’m playing doctor to one of them. …. I was a doctor. I was a yoga instructor. I was a Zen master. I had to be everything to try and calm the whole thing down.”
So how did this unlikely Bravo crossover event come to be?
According to Jason, he’s had the opportunity to hang out with Whitney and Heather on multiple occasions in Australia for various Bravo events.
When Heather reached out and wanted to come and charter, Jason couldn’t say no to his friend.
“They’re so lovely, all of them,” he said. “We were so grateful. [The crew felt] blessed that they had that time with them. They’re really beautiful people. However, we know what they like when they’re together. You’ll see that. I’ve tried everything to try and break the ice. I brought some yoga and some Zen into it to try and stop it. But I don’t think there’s anything we could have done to calm it down.”
In a preview for Tuesday’s episode, Lisa is put in the hot seat after some cast members question why they face negative press whenever they are feuding with the Vida Tequila founder. What comes next are explosive fights and even some tears.
“If we pull them apart at each end of the boat, it’s a lot quieter,” Jason joked to Us. “As soon as they come together, it’s just on.”
While the trip will be included in an upcoming season of Below Deck Down Under, viewers will also be able to witness the fun on the current season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City starting Tuesday, October 28.
To prove this trip was one for the books, Bravo revealed the charter will be part of episodes through November 11.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. A premiere date for the new season of Below Deck Down Under has yet to be announced.
