MomTok appears to be putting any drama aside to root for Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck on Dancing With the Stars.
“It’s always the fire emojis, the disco balls, the ‘Yes, queen, slay queen. You guys crushed it,’” Leavitt, 32, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Tuesday, September 30, when describing MomTok’s reaction to her dances. “They’re very supportive.”
When asked if anyone from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast is the most supportive, Leavitt was happy to confirm everyone — yes, everyone — has been rooting for her and partner Mark Ballas.
“Honestly, all of them. I’m really grateful,” she said after dancing the samba to “Shake Ya Ass” by Mystikal. “They’re posting us on their stories, on TikTok, and they’re always in our comments, like, every single one of them. It’s great.”
Affleck, 26, agreed that MomTok has been encouraging as she learns a variety of dances in record time.
After dancing the cha-cha with partner Jan Ravnik, Affleck said her costars are “fully supportive.”
“Every single week, they’re sending us messages and posting, which we appreciate,” she told Us. “We need all the votes that we can get.”
When asked who has been her biggest supporter, Affleck joked, “I know some who haven’t been my biggest supporter. I think we all know. Just kidding.”
Before season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres on Hulu November 13, Affleck and Leavitt are focused on improving week after week for the Dancing With the Stars judges, which include Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
“I’m slowly getting there,” Affleck said when discussing her confidence. “I’m not a dancer, and so I do feel like I am more behind than others. But hey, as long as I’m making progress, that’s all I care about.”
Ravnik, 30, added, “She was always confident. … With TikTok, she’s by herself with a camera, and she’s just doing some trends that she’s learning by herself. But here there’s actual technique. Then it’s the audience. It’s a lot of things, but she’s killing it. She’s amazing.”
Before fans speculate that it’s all work and no play, many of the contestants squeeze in some time in between rehearsals to create some must-see TikToks.
For Leavitt and Ballas, 39, they have a whole game plan when it comes to what followers see online.
“We plan them out. I’ve got a Google Doc,” Leavitt shared. “I’m like, ‘Get ready. Come early tomorrow. We’re gonna bang these out.’”
Ballas added, “At night, we’ll FaceTime each other. I’m like, ‘Found this audio. What do you think?’ It’s fun, it’s silly.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
