The worst fears about Tyreek Hill’s gruesome leg injury suffered Monday night have been confirmed.
Hill tore his ACL and multiple ligaments in his left knee, in addition to the dislocation suffered during the Dolphins’ 27-21 win over the Jets on “Monday Night Football,” according to ESPN.
The wideout is reportedly scheduled for what is likely season-ending surgery Tuesday.
Hill suffered the injury early in the third quarter while catching a sideline pass, with his left leg getting caught underneath while being tackled by Jets safety Malachi Moore with Miami leading, 10-3.
The veteran’s knee bent at an unnatural angle, and an air cast was placed on his leg before a cart took him off the field.
Hill actually smiled while leaving the field and spent the night in the hospital.
“He was probably in the best spirits of any player that I’ve ever seen (have) such a terrible experience,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said after the game. “He immediately had wide eyes and was talking, ‘I’m good, just make sure the guys get this win.’ He was focused on the team.”
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, went to the hospital with his client — riding in the ambulance with Hill — and called the moment “very painful,” while adding that Hill’s spirits were “amazing.”
He told WSNV 7News after Monday’s game that they did not know the full extent of the damage while awaiting the results of an MRI exam and CT scan.
“Are there any torn ligaments? Is there torn cartilage? Are there any broken bones? To check on the blood flow, any, God forbid, nerve damage?” Rosenhaus said in a video posted shortly after midnight. “All of this is getting checked out. … We don’t know the extent of the injury. The team doctors have told me he dislocated his knee, which I think was apparent for everyone who watched the horrific play. But what that means, and the extent of the damage, and whether he’ll need surgery, to what extent, all of that we should find out within the next couple hours.”
This injury complicates Hill’s future both with the Dolphins and for the rest of his career.

ACL tears come with estimates of roughly a one-year absence, but multiple ligaments being torn could result in a longer timetable.
Star 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a similar injury last year, and 49ers general manager John Lynch said recently that the receiver isn’t ready to return yet.
Some had wondered whether this could be Hill’s final year with the Dolphins after he previously expressed potential problems with the union that started great but has since trended downward.
Hill indicated displeasure with last year’s season that ended without a playoff berth, and he has not been the same game-changing playmaker as in years past.
Cutting Hill after next June 1 would create $36 million in salary cap space, while adding $15.9 million in dead cap in 2026 and $12.4 million in 2027, per ESPN.
Hill caught all six targets for 67 yards against the Jets, and likely finishes the season — and perhaps his Dolphins tenure — with 21 catches for 265 yards and one touchdown.
The Dolphins held on for the win Monday night to improve to 1-3, and will look to win their first game without Hill on the road against the Panthers in Week 5.
“I feel like there will be a lot of guys in the receiver room that will have more opportunities to make plays. I have faith in them, especially from what I’ve seen over camp and the first few weeks,” Miami tight end Darren Waller said, per ESPN. “Football is a game and a business where you got to move forward.
“There is no replacing (Hill), but I feel like we got guys that can get the job done.”
