Jon Bon Jovi is proud to be the grandfather of Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s baby girl.
“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,” Bon Jovi said of his life as a grandfather while speaking to influencer Bunnie XO in a teaser clip of their interview shared via TikTok on Sunday, September 21. “They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby. It’s beautiful. I want to see pictures, like, every other day. I’m that pain in the butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool.”
The proud grandfather went on to praise his new daughter-in-law for her hard work.
“They got married very young but we blessed it because we get it — you know, they’re sorta mature beyond their years,” he said. “She comes from a family where her parents are still together and they married very young. Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought OK, we’ll support this and it’s working out.”
The Bon Jovi frontman, 63, shares Bongiovi, 23, with his wife, Dorothea Hurley. The couple, who have been married since April 1989, are also parents of daughter Stephanie, 32, and sons Jesse, 30, and Romeo, 21.
Bongiovi and Brown, 21, announced in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, August 21, that they became first-time parents earlier this year.
“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” their statement read. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.”
The pair’s baby news came more than one year after they tied the knot in May 2024. Since then, Brown has been forthcoming about her desire to start a family.
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,” she explained on the “Smartless” podcast in March. “Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
She continued: “And my nan, my grandmother … she was a huge part of my life. And so, yeah, I mean, Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally. It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, ‘We cannot do that until we get married.’ So that was his thing.”
Brown elaborated about her and Bongiovi’s plans for a big brood since they both have three siblings.
“My thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family,” she noted. “I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different [than] adopting.”
Prior to Brown and Bongiovi’s adoption announcement, Bon Jovi opened up to The Sun about the duo’s future children.
“My grandkids will be more English than Italian or my other heritage!” he told the outlet in an interview published in June. “How crazy is that?”
He added: “Suddenly, your kids are married and then they’re telling you about the prospect of grandbabies … whoa! There’s no chapter in my book that went this far.”
