Dakota and Elle Fanning are twinning and winning.
Dakota, 31, and Ella, 27, teamed up to pose on the cover of Vanity Fair, which was released digitally on Tuesday, September 16. On the cover, the duo both wore voluminous blonde hairdos and red-and-white patterned bodysuits.
Elle, for her part, stunned in a plunging design with red stars, while Dakota rocked a striped design. They both wore the tops with low-waisted navy blue jeans. The sisters also held up white flowers to their faces while they gazed into the camera.
Dakota donned a daring full beat, including black eyeliner and bronzey eyeshadow. Elle looked just like her sister and completed her look with nude lips. In another shot, the sisters again twinned in Buck Mason white baby tees, which they complemented with Nina Lotan high-waisted skirts. The duo glammed up their look with silver strappy Manolo Blahnik heels. They walked side-by-side with their arms around each other and gave the camera their best pout.
The sisters also showed off their best whimsical looks as they relaxed in a field. Elle looked graceful in a Louis Vuitton dress featuring blue ruffles and a plunging neckline. She rested her head in Dakota’s lap, who wore a Chanel ruffled top that tied in a black bow at her collar and matching shorts.
While chatting with the publication, Elle opened up about their dynamic. “When we were younger, we wanted to make sure that people saw us differently, and we wanted to give each other space to carve our own path,” she said. “But as adults, it’s been very fulfilling to merge.”
Dakota added that even though they share “a lot” with each other, including a stylist and publicist, they’re still “very different.”
“I don’t feel competitive. But I know that people probably don’t believe that,” she added.
Another similarity the sisters can add to their list is The Nightingale, which they’re both starring in and producing together. The movie is set to release in February 2027.
