Heather Rae El Moussa is teasing what’s to come in season 2 of The Flip Off.
Heather, 37, sat down with husband and costar Tarek El Moussa, as well as his ex-wife and their costar Christina Haack, for a promo video for their HGTV show shared via Instagram on Sunday, August 24. The clip saw the trio play a game of “Two Truths and a Lie.”
“I’ll go first: Tarek wears a toupee,” Christina, 42, began, referring to a rumor about her ex-husband’s hair.
Heather was up next, telling the camera, “There may be a partner swap on season 2 of The Flip Off.”
The video ended with Tarek, 44, saying, “I’m still the motherf***ing king of flipping!”
The lie appeared to be Christina’s comment about Tarek wearing a toupee, as he shut down the rumors about his hair with a video of himself getting scalp injections in June. By that logic, it seems Heather’s “partner swap” comment was true, so fans can expect either the Selling Sunset alum or her husband to team up with Christina at some point in The Flip Off season 2.
Many fans in the comments predicted that it would be Heather and Christina against Tarek.
“The girls are teaming up 🔥,” one user wrote as another fan replied, “And Tarek is going to be lost!!”
However, Tarek insisted, “That would be too easy 🤷🏻♂️😂.”
“The girls need to team up against him 👏,” another person commented.
HGTV announced on August 21 that The Flip Off season 2 would arrive in 2026. The second installment will see Tarek, Heather and Christina “call a rematch” in their heated house-flipping competition.
Christina “will throw out the rule book and do everything she can to beat Tarek and Heather at the flipping game, but Tarek and Heather “won’t give up their crown easily in an all-out battle to see who can win round two,” the press release said.
The renewal came as part of the network’s announcement that it would “bolster its 2025-2026 slate with over 100 episodes” of original content. In addition to The Flip Off, Love It or List It and Renovation Aloha were renewed, while new shows like Home Town: Inn This Together, Cheap A$$ Beach Houses and Tropic Like It’s Hot were announced.
“HGTV’s passionate fans tune in for our signature home renovation, real estate and design expertise, and they also want content that’s unfiltered, escapist and fun,” Warner Bros. Discovery’s Chief Creative Officer of US Networks Howard Lee said in a statement. “The network’s large order of new and returning series has something for everyone.”
The news came on the heels of HGTV’s decision to cancel five shows in June: Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It.
A source also told Us Weekly in July that Tarek and Heather’s show The Flipping El Moussas is “not coming back” to HGTV, and the same goes for Christina’s show Christina on the Coast. While the network has not made a formal announcement about these shows, they were not included in the list of returning series.
Heather reacted to HGTV’s show cancellations in an interview with Us on July 30.
“Obviously, I do know they are going through big internal changes, so I’m not quite sure what’s going on there,” she said. “I don’t have a statement for that, but I can say how much I’ve enjoyed being on HGTV. I love filming The Flip Off and Flipping El Moussas and I love flipping houses. But I don’t know internally what’s going on.”
