Brooke Hogan’s husband, Steven Oleksy, had some choice words for a photographer after unconsenting pictures of the couple were taken and shared online.
“Dear driver of the creepy white Honda with limo-tinted windows,” Oleksy, 39, wrote via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, August 13. “I waved to be nice. Had I known you were paparazzi, I would have kindly introduced myself and asked why you drove so far for just a picture.”
Oleksy added, “Thanks for the picture though.”
The former NHL star wrote his caption underneath a photo published by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, showing he and Hogan, 37, out for a walk in Orlando with their twins, Oliver and Molly, in a stroller.
Oleksy and Hogan got married in June 2022 and welcomed their twins in January.
In another picture published by the outlet, Hogan was noticeably upset and could be seen wiping tears from her eyes.
Hogan’s father, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, died on July 24 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71 years old.
In the weeks since, much about Brooke’s relationship with her late father has come to light thanks to posts made by Brooke on social media. Brooke explained she had been estranged from her father for two years, a decision she made to “protect my heart.”
In a post made via Instagram on July 28, Brooke said the relationship with her father started to become filled with “respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me” after she and Oleksy relocated to Florida to assist him with his ongoing health issues.
“All of a sudden he didn’t want me at surgeries,” Brooke explained. “Everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn’t get through.”
Brooke and Oleksy were not present at a memorial service held for Hulk on August 5, which she also explained on social media.
“My father hated the morbidity of funerals,” she wrote. “He didn’t want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him.”
She added, “The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset 💔.”
Brooke’s post was accompanied by pictures of herself, Oleksy and their twins at the beach.
