Pete Crow-Armstrong’s breakout is everything Mets once envisioned — and are now missing

The Mets got lucky when they traded Jarred Kelenic to Seattle in 2018 for Robinson Canó and Edwin Díaz.

Kelenic has been unable to find his footing in the majors with the Mariners and Braves.

The Mets haven’t been as fortunate with their decision to ship another outfielder picked in the first round, Pete Crow-Armstrong, to the Cubs nearly four years ago for a half-season of Javier Báez.

Crow-Armstrong is an All-Star with Chicago and in the National League MVP conversation, considered the biggest threat to Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers.
