Former Bachelor Grant Ellis is in reflection mode after his split from Juliana Pasquarosa.
“I think the most important thing above all, is to remain true to yourself,” Grant, 31, wrote via Instagram on Monday, June 16, alongside a photo of him posing outside NBC Studios. “Even if things don’t work out the way you originally planned, God always has a plan. The internet is a funny place of different peoples opinions and that’s OK … everyone is entitled to that.”
He continued, “But regardless of the rumors or what people may think or the pressure that come with being seen. The main thing for me is to be the reason somebody believes in good. Life has a funny way of shaping character and to grow from experiences is a personal choice. And for me … im always going to choose growth 🤘🏾.”
The post comes days after Grant and Juliana, 28, shared their decision to part ways nearly three months following the season 29 Bachelor finale, where they got engaged.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Grant wrote via his Instagram Story on Friday, June 13. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”
Grant noted that he and Juliana had a “meaningful” and “real” relationship on the ABC reality series, which they tried to continue into the real world.
“There’s no negativity here, no resentment [and] just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward,” he added. “I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it. Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in our journey. This chapter is closing, but we’re both walking away with love and respect in our hearts.”
Later that day, Juliana shared that she and Grant would continue to “cheer each other on” but from “different places.”
“It’s a gift to find someone who sees the world in a way that resonates with you, while also encouraging you to grow. I’ve been grateful to share that experience with Grant,” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “Marriage is a commitment, and it’s one we both still believe in deeply. After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve come to the decision that this chapter of our lives is meant to continue on separate paths. We shared something meaningful, navigating a unique journey side by side [and] learning, growing and showing up for each other the best we knew how. While this isn’t the ending we once imagined, it’s one filled with mutual respect, care and hope for what’s ahead.”
Juliana ended her message urging followers to “please be kind.” Shortly after Grant and Juliana announced their split, fellow season 29 contestant Carolina Quixano shared her thoughts without naming names.
“My opinion is anyone claiming to be ready for an engagement with the Bachelor without actually going on a one-on-one with that person is probably trying to ‘win The Bachelor’ more than trying to connect with the actual human,” Carolina, 29, said in a Friday TikTok video. “Anyone who goes out of their way to s*** on someone who’s simply saying they’re nervous about the Bachelor potentially meeting their family and how quickly everything is moving because there is an engagement at the end of it, um, probably not a very nice person.”
She continued, “My opinion is that then lying and then saying that person had nothing good to say about that date is even worse. Branding yourself as a ‘nice girl’ is probably like you’re trying to overcompensate for something. We all know what you stand for. My opinion is that if she hadn’t been ‘the winner,’ everyone would have seen a very different side to all of this.”
In response to Carolina’s comments, Juliana shared in an exclusive statement to Us Weekly that the remarks “aren’t surprising.”
“This feels like an attempt to turn our breakup into engagement. That’s her choice,” Juliana told Us. “As for me, I’m not interested in going back and forth. Eye for an eye isn’t my vibe.”
She concluded, “I’m focused on healing, staying close to my support system and keeping it all about nice girl energy — always.”
Juliana also clapped back at haters in a Sunday TikTok, lipsyncing to Black Eyed Peas’ track “Where Is The Love?” She mouthed, “Yo what’s going on with the world, momma / Yo people living like they ain’t got no mommas / I think they all distracted by the drama and / Attracted to the trauma, mamma.” Juliana captioned the post, “I’ll just leave this one here.”
In the comments section of the post, one user wrote, “Unbothered diva,” to which Juliana replied, “Always unbothered.”
