Jake Tapper slammed for ‘rewriting history’ to cash in on Biden’s decline in bombshell book — despite defending ex-prez while he was in WH

CNN’s Jake Tapper has been blasted as a “hypocrite” for trying to “rewrite history” and profit off former President Joe Biden’s mental decline with his new bombshell book — despite the lefty anchor staunchly defending him while he was still in the White House.

Troubling accounts of Biden’s physical and mental decline — as well as apparent efforts to cover it up — started emerging Tuesday when snippets of Tapper’s forthcoming book “Original Sin” were made public.
The backlash against Tapper, who co-wrote the book with Axios’ Alex Thompson, was swift on social media — with critics immediately ripping the CNN personality for trying to line his pockets.

“Jake Tapper covered Biden’s ass the entire time. And is now running to the other side and throwing his reporter hat on,” one X user raged.

Another chimed in, writing: “Jake Tapper wrote a book about the coverup of Biden’s decline, as if he played no role in it at all. It’s quite amazing. Tapper smeared and attacked people who brought up Biden’s decline, including Democrats.”

“Tapper is a shameless hypocrite, and the proceeds from the book should fund billboards across the country that say ‘Mea culpa – Jake Tapper’,” one user griped on X.

Fox News’ John Roberts and Joe Concha dedicated an on-air segment to bashing Tapper, too, arguing that the CNN anchor and liberal media “tied itself in knots in trying to either dismiss this or cover it up” during Biden’s presidency.

“It is just patently insulting that Jake Tapper is trying to rewrite history while lining his own pockets in the process. He was very much a part of the media cabal who defended Biden,” Concha said.

“He blamed a stutter, he called Lara Trump a conspiracy theorist when she appeared on his show for simply pointing out the obvious that Joe Biden had no business being anywhere near the Oval Office years ago.

“But now that Joe Biden is expendable in the eyes of Democrats, and you know the books are going to come, the leaks are going come, it’s all a CYA for everybody involved,” he continued. “Now people are trying to profit off of it.”

Among the more shocking details to emerge from the book was a troubling incident in which Biden couldn’t even recognize George Clooney at a Democratic fundraiser in Los Angeles during the 2024 campaign — leaving the Hollywood star “shaken to his core.”

Biden’s aides had become so concerned about his physical deterioration at one point that they also discussed him using a wheelchair if he won re-election.

A CNN spokesperson defended Tapper in the wake of the backlash, telling Fox News he “fairly and accurately” covered Biden at the time.

“Jake Tapper is a veteran journalist whose tenacious and thorough reporting has held those in power to account on both sides of the aisle for decades,” the spokesperson said.

“From the campaign in 2020 to 2024 when he dropped out, Jake raised concerns about President Biden’s mental stamina on his shows, questioned Biden officials directly about his health on air, and consistently encouraged open discussion and debate on the issue.”
