ASAP Rocky is proud to reveal the news that he and Rihanna are expecting their third child together.
Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, May 5, that the rapper, 36, and Rihanna, 37, are about to become a party of five. Shortly afterward, ASAP Rocky walked the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala, where he sported a sleek black suit and big smile to celebrate the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme as well as his baby announcement.
When asked about the latter, he told The Associated Press, “It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.”
He added, “And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ‘cause we definitely happy, you know.”
Rihanna arrived to the Met Gala several hours after her partner, bringing her fashion A-game as usual. She wore a bump-hugging gray and black gown, a cropped black jacket and a wide-brimmed black hat.
Earlier Monday, she showed off her baby bump while getting ready for fashion’s biggest night. Her photographer, Miles Diggs, also confirmed the news with an image of her bump on display. (Diggs has previously confirmed her pregnancies.)
Last year, Rihanna, who shares sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 17 months, with ASAP Rocky, addressed her desire to have more children.
“[I’ll have] as many kids as God wants me to have,” she told Elle in April 2024. “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
The pair welcomed their first child, RZA, in May 2022, and less than one year after his birth, Rihanna announced that she was expecting their second child when she unveiled a baby bump during her performance at Super Bowl LVII in February 2023. The couple welcomed Riot that August.
“You really don’t remember life before [having kids], that’s the craziest thing ever,” the singer told British Vogue in February 2023. “You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before — but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because … because it doesn’t matter.”
ASAP Rocky, meanwhile, loves being a dad.
“I think becoming a father helped me just get my dad swag bag,” he said in an April interview with Vogue. “I’m really on that. That’s what I do. I’m on that dad swag. I love it.”
