Olivia “Livvy” Dunne’s “purple reign” continued this weekend when she and LSU’s gymnastics team took the crown at the SEC Championship for the second straight year.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, the 22-year-old gymnast and social media sensation gave her 5.3 million followers an inside look at the confetti-filled celebrations in Birmingham, Ala., where the Tigers won their sixth SEC Championship in program history.
Captioning one post, “Purple reign 4eva,” Dunne and her teammates can be seen holding up the championship hardware, while another post featured the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum reveling in the blue, white and yellow confetti.
“SEC CHAMPS BABY!” Dunne exclaimed.
LSU posted a program-best score at the SEC Championship, 198.200, defeating Oklahoma (197.925) and Florida (197.825).
Dunne, who was part of LSU’s national title-winning roster last year, was not on the lineup card ahead of Saturday’s event.
She revealed earlier this month she had been grappling with a knee injury.
“Hi friends! Unfortunately I’ve been dealing with an avulsion fracture of my patella and will not be able to compete on senior night,” Dunne previously posted in an Instagram Story.
“It absolutely breaks my heart to not get the opportunity to compete in the PMAC one last time. Tiger fans, you’ve been so good to me! Thank you for the endless support and as always Geaux Tigers! – Liv.”
Dunne announced her return to LSU last summer for a fifth and final year of eligibility.
“I’ve really found the love, my love for the sport again last year, I’d say. So that’s one of the main reasons why I wanted to come back,” she told The Post’s Jenna Lemoncelli in September.
When Dunne took to the mat in January for LSU’s season-opening meet, she was supported by her boyfriend, reigning NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes.
The star Pirates pitcher will be on the mound Thursday for Pittsburgh’s Opening Day clash against the Marlins.
Dunne and Skenes confirmed their relationship in 2023.
