Taylor Swift can drink with the best of them!
American tennis pro Frances Tiafoe recalled sharing a suite with the pop star at a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium last November and said that the “Wildest Dreams” singer knocked back several beverages with him.
“We go into this suite, and the first person we see in this suite is Taylor,” Tiafoe told Tennis TV in a Monday, February 24, interview.
“I’m like, ‘Try to act like you’ve been here before,’” said Tiafoe, 27, who attended the November game with his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield.
“We were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. Super down to earth. Hopefully, we can do that again,” he continued.
Tiafoe admitted that while he isn’t a massive Swift fan, the pop star won him over.
“It’s crazy because, you know like, I’m not even saying I’m a Swiftie, but like, I appreciate greatness so much,” he explained. “Seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect.”
According to Tiafoe, Swift was “very knowledgeable” about tennis. “She was like, ‘Man, we wanted to watch you play in the final at the [U.S.] Open,’” the athlete recalled.
“And she was like, ‘Trav loves you,’” he said, referring to Swift’s Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Swift, 35, has been seen at several Kansas City games in support of Kelce, also 35, since the couple went public with their relationship in September 2023, including two Super Bowls. Swift was in attendance at Super Bowl LIX earlier this month in New Orleans, where Kelce and the Chiefs suffered a stinging loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With the NFL season and Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour behind them, the couple can now look forward to some downtime together.
“I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good period for the two of them without the NFL season, without the Eras Tour,” Kelce’s dad, Ed, told Australia’s Today show in early February. “Just them alone, really connecting more. And I think that can only be a good thing.”
A source recently told Us Weekly “there’s a sense of relief” for the couple, noting that their plans include “laying low” and figuring out their next steps. A second source said, “There’s no way to have a relationship when they’re all over the place with work. It’s going to be easier now to find time to go over plans and make sure everything aligns.”
“They both want to rest and decompress. Neither of them have huge commitments coming up,” the first source added.
