After quitting on the 49ers at the end of last season, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell had some foul words for those who disapprove of his actions.
Campbell received instant backlash when he elected not to enter the game for the 49ers in their “Thursday Night Football” loss to the Rams this season.
The 31-year-old linebacker was a starter while Dre Greenlaw was injured, but was relegated to the bench for Greenlaw’s return.
When Greenlaw got injured again, that’s when Campbell refused to play in his place, and he was then suspended the final three games.
Campbell has his own side of the story.
But instead of discussing those specifics, Campbell took to X for a rant on Friday.
“Listen, I’m sick of all you bitch ass [expletive] jumping under my tweets. It’s been 2 months and I have yet to address the situation cause I know the truth and don’t care to clear anything up,” Campbell wrote.
He did not stop there.
“I’m by myself ALL the time if you or any of them bitch ass [expletive] from the 49ers feel some type of way go wit ya move when you see me cause all them [expletive] that had so much to say about me gone have to stand on them words next time I see them,” he continued.
“I been standing on business my whole life and it’s gone be like that until the day I’m 6ft under p—y ass [expletive] don’t know me.”
Campbell has played nine years in the NFL after being chosen in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft coming out of Minnesota.
He has bounced around, playing for four different teams.
He most notably was a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2021 with the Packers.
The 49ers elected not to cut Campbell after the incident, instead just suspending him so he wouldn’t be able to sign with another team.
The move also potentially helped San Francisco “claw back some of his $3.35 million signing bonus.”
He concluded his tirade with a message to the media who spoke negatively about his choices.
“That goes for all them old ass retired [expletive] that jumped on TV speaking on my name when they could’ve reached out to me and heard it from the horses mouth but they just took what the 49ers said and ran with it,” Campbell wrote. “Yall [expletive] p—-y too f–k all of yall.”
