Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) over Philadelphia Eagles
I just can’t bet against Patrick Mahomes in this spot.
The Chiefs almost always find a way to get it done.
Xavier Worthy has added a critical element to the Kansas City’s offense, and Patrick Mahomes has shown he’s more willing to run than during the regular season, scrambling 11 times against the Bills.
One notable statistic for this game is that no running back reached 100 yards against the Chiefs this year — including some stingy performances against Derrick Henry (13-46), Alvin Kamara (11-26) and Bucky Irving (7-24).
Running quarterbacks have had success, but we’ve seen that Jalen Hurts isn’t looking to tuck it and rush like in the past.
Ultimately, I trust that the Chiefs will make Hurts have to beat them with his arm, and I trust Mahomes more than Hurts.
Bet on the first Super Bowl three-peat.
Chiefs-Eagles Under 48.5
I originally liked the Over after watching the 38-35 classic two years ago, but these two teams have strong defenses that can muck up this game.
They allowed 39 combined points per game during the regular season.
This isn’t the same Chiefs offense as in years past, and the Eagles didn’t light up the scoreboard in their first two playoff wins.
The teams ranked just seventh (Eagles) and 15th (Chiefs) in points per game during the regular season.
Betting on the NFL?
Two strong defensive coordinators will find ways to slow down the opposing quarterback, leading to more of a defensive-minded game.
ESPN analyst Troy Aikman also noted he expects this to be a defensive battle and reportedly sharp money is on the Under.
We’ve seen two of the Chiefs’ recent Super Bowls go Under this figure, while one just barely cleared at 51 points.
Championship week: 1-1. Chiefs (W), Commanders (L)
Season: 16-25-1.
