Trump says reports he’s working with Israel to ‘blow Iran into smithereens’ are ‘greatly exaggerated’

President Trump denied Wednesday that he is working with Israel to “blow Iran into smithereens” — saying he wants the country to “peacefully grow and prosper” but without nukes.

“I want Iran to be a great and successful Country, but one that cannot have a Nuclear Weapon,” the president wrote on Truth Social, a day after warning Iran it would be “obliterated” if it assassinated him.

“Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into smithereens, ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED.

“I would much prefer a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper.

“We should start working on it immediately, and have a big Middle East Celebration when it is signed and completed. God Bless the Middle East!”

The post also comes a day after Trump proposed the US “take over” the Gaza Strip, moving “all” Palestinians living there to other countries.

“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at a press conference Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who praised the concept.

“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

Trump said the roughly 2 million Gaza Strip residents would be relocated to neighboring countries in a transitional phase — all while indicating they would not be granted the right of return afterward.

“Just can’t go back. If you go back, it’s going to end up the same way it has for 100 years,” he said, later calling the Gaza Strip a “hellhole” and saying he does not think Gazans would want to return.

Trump did not lay out a timeline for his plan, which comes a month after Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire deal guaranteeing the release of hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.
