It didn’t look good for T.J. Watt at first.
The four-time first-team All-Pro appeared in bad shape after seemingly injuring his foot against the Eagles on Sunday.
Watt had been rushing Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and pulled up following an awkward step.
He was being evaluated on the sidelines while clearly and visibly grimacing in pain and told reporters postgame that he rolled his ankle — and that an X-ray came back negative.
Watt remained out for the remainder of the contest, which became a 27-13 loss for the Steelers in Philadelphia as their record dropped to 10-4.
He wasn’t certain about his Week 16 status against the rival Ravens.
Watt, who entered the game with 9.5 sacks in 13 starts, recorded two more and forced a fumble against the Eagles.
Now, the hope is he doesn’t have to miss a considerable amount of time as the Steelers embark on the home stretch of their regular season.
With a Colts loss to the Broncos, the Steelers clinched a playoff berth, even in defeat.
