Observations from the Giants’ training camp practice on Thursday.
Breaking … the Banks
Cornerback Deonte Banks made a nice play to break up a pass from Daniel Jones intended for Jalin Hyatt in the end zone during team drills.
More time out
Lawrence Cager has yet to return to the field.
He was in sweats on the sidelines again Thursday.
Out since Aug. 13 with a groin injury, Cager began camp with a strong shot to make the team but could be in jeopardy ahead of cut-down day.
Caught my eye
Brian Daboll called two straight designed runs for Jones during team drills.
Jones planted and cut hard both times on his surgically repaired right knee for solid gains.
Injury report
Linebacker Dyontae Johnson (ankle) is no longer wearing a walking boot, though he continued to work by himself on the side.
Daboll said tackle Evan Neal (ankle) could “potentially” be ready to play Saturday against the Jets.
