There are no perfect teams, though the Dodgers sure are trying. Every club enters spring with problems — then adds a few more while in camp.

The most discussed Yankees shortcoming as they set out to defend their AL championship is at third base (assuming Jazz Chisholm Jr. is at second) as DJ LeMahieu attempts to prove he still is a major leaguer, much less a starting third baseman, and/or Oswaldo Cabrera tries to demonstrate that he is more than a utilityman.

The Yanks also are vulnerable if something happens to Austin Wells. They would be left with Alex Jackson, who has not been able to stick in the majors as a backup catcher because his offense is so horrific, or Ben Rice, whose defensive acumen has been questioned (though Wells’ was, too) or a group with zero major league experience, including J.C. Escarra, who the Yankees like.

But getting less attention is: 1. Big picture, do the Yankees have enough firepower against lefty pitching? 2. Smaller picture, do they have a platoon partner vs. lefties for Jasson Dominguez?
