How many stars can check into The White Lotus at once? Us would like to test the limit.
The HBO series, which debuted in 2021, focuses on the guests and employees at fictional resorts (in various locations) as they experience a slew of personal ups and downs while on vacation. The anthology series is also known for a mysterious death — or two — that is eventually revealed at the end of each season.
Season 1 set the scene in Hawaii with an ensemble cast of Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn and Molly Shannon.
After The White Lotus became an overnight hit, creator Mike White had his work cut out for him in Sicily for season 2. Luckily, he delivered with appearances from F. Murray Abraham, Coolidge, Adam DiMarco, Meghann Fahy, Beatrice Grannò, Tom Hollander, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Simona Tabasco and Leo Woodall.
Then came season 3 in Thailand, which included Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong and Aimee Lou Wood.
While there have been a few instances of cast members appearing on multiple seasons — including Coolidge and Rothwell — some stars want to bring more existing characters together. And since White knows a thing or two about a reality TV show (Survivor season 37, anyone?), an “all-stars” season (a label typically reserved for the unscripted shows) could be the perfect move.
Keep scrolling for what has been said so far about an all-stars season of The White Lotus:
Patrick Schwarzenegger
Schwarzenegger weighed in on the concept during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in April 2025, saying, “I’ve heard rumors of them doing an all-star season.” Turns out Schwarzenegger is full of ideas about what should happen.
“They could get all the douche guys in one hotel together,” he shared. “Mike said that one day when we were on set, he was like, ‘Oh my God, it’d be so good to get you, Jake Lacy, and Theo James in the same room.’”
Mike White
“I’d love to do that,” White told The Hollywood Reporter in April 2025 but didn’t reveal whether anything was in the works. The creator did offer an update on where he would like to see season 4 take place — or not.
“I want to get a little out of the crashing waves against rocks vernacular,” White mentioned in a featurette that played after the April 2025 finale. “But there’s also room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
HBO Exec
HBO CEO Casey Bloys threw some cast pitches out there while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, adding, “Maybe Molly Shannon’s character and Victoria Ratliff know each other? There are so many connections between all these awful people.”
