The Yankees won’t be the only high-profile team playing in the Bronx this year.
A little more than a week after the 2026 World Cup ends, Kieffer Moore’s Wrexham will take on Dominik Szoboszlai’s Liverpool in a preseason match at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, July 29.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $290 including fees on StubHub.
100-level seats (that might be close to Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney) start at $654 including fees.
“We are all looking forward to returning to the U.S. as part of our pre-season preparations,” Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson shared in a statement.
Interestingly enough, this will be the first time Wrexham and Liverpool have met since a 2007 friendly at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground way back in July 2007.
Liverpool won that match 3-2.
As of now, Wrexham are in sixth in the EFL Championship and “in contention for a play-off place in their quest to achieve promotion to the Premier League” according to The Athletic.
Their Yankee Stadium showdown is part of a series with Leeds United and Sunderland that has matches scheduled at stadiums and ballparks all over North America this summer including a stop for Wrexham at Chester, PA’s Subaru Park aka the home of team co-owner and “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” star McElhenney.
Also, New York and New Jersey hooligans should note that the Leeds Football Club will take on Sunderland at Harrison, NJ’s Sports Illustrated Stadium on Thursday, July 30.
Prior to this set of Premiere League contests, a number of high-stakes World Cup matchups are slated for NYC’s neighboring MetLife Stadium.
Notable games include Brazil vs. Morocco (June13), France vs. Senegal (June 16) and Panama vs. England (June 27).
Then, on Sunday, July 19, MetLife Stadium will host the final. Vivid Seats has tickets starting at $5,469 including fees.
