WASHINGTON — President Trump announced Tuesday that he has a preliminary trade deal with Indonesia — just a week after threatening a 32% tariff on the world’s fourth-most-populous nation.

“Great deal, for everybody, just made with Indonesia. I dealt directly with with their highly respected President. DETAILS TO FOLLOW!!!” Trump, 79, wrote on Truth Social.

Trump previously announced deals in principle with the UK, China and Vietnam and a “roadmap” with India after launching a global trade war April 2 with his threat of “reciprocal” tariffs.

The president has focused on eliminating foreign nations’tariffs and other policies that restrict the sale of American-made goods and balancing US trade deficits with those countries.

Trump’s reciprocal levies are due to take effect Aug. 1 against countries that don’t make a deal.
