It’s been two years of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s blossoming love story — and his podcast cohorts are still in awe.
“Two years ago today, anyone got an update?” a Saturday, July 26, X post on Travis and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast account read.
The upload also retweeted the account’s post from July 26, 2023. In the original clip, Travis, now 35, claimed that he was rejected by Swift, also now 35, when he saw her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City earlier that month.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis told Jason, now 37, on their podcast. “I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
According to Travis, he made a friendship bracelet featuring his phone number specifically for Swift.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” Travis added. “But it was an unbelievable show. Kansas City showed out. … Everybody was dressed in pink and purple, going crazy for her.”
Against all odds, Swift actually heard Travis’ podcast pleas — and personally reached out in private.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” the Grammy winner told TIME in a December 2023 profile. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
Swift and Travis publicly debuted their relationship in September 2023 when she attended his Kansas City Chiefs football games for the first time. Now, she’s a regular at Arrowhead Stadium — and even cheered him on during two consecutive Super Bowls. (The Chiefs won in 2024 against the San Francisco 49ers, but lost the next year to the Philadelphia Eagles.)
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift told TIME. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Travis has felt the same, often attending Swift’s international Eras Tour shows and even joining her on stage for a special cameo in London in June 2024.
Travis and Swift most recently enjoyed a break from the spotlight amid his NFL offseason earlier this spring.
“Had some adventures this offseason, kept it 💯,” Travis wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 24, sharing 13 photos with Swift and their famous friends and family.
Travis’ now-viral photo dump even revealed that the couple has loved-up photos together serving as respective phone wallpaper.
