Travis Kelce dismissed a narrative that he and girlfriend Taylor Swift are “trying to seek attention” by having date nights in the public eye, including their appearance at the 2025 Stanley Cup Final last month.
During an appearance Tuesday on the “Bussin With The Boys” podcast, the star Chiefs tight end explained that the couple is simply “enjoying life” and that he’s trying to introduce the singer to different sports outside of the NFL.
“We’re having fun with it, being a couple,” Kelce, 35, told hosts Taylor Lewan and Will Compton. “It gets thrown out there that we’re trying to seek attention now and then, and we’re just enjoying life, having fun, going to hockey games, kind of introducing her to some more of the sports world that she hasn’t really [seen]… [Stanley Cup] was fun, man.”
Kelce and Swift, 35, have been spending plenty of time together this offseason as the three-time Super Bowl champion prepares for his 13th NFL season. The 2025 season also marks the final year of the two-year, $34.25 million contract he signed last April.
Unlike the past two NFL seasons, this year marks the first campaign that Swift isn’t performing her blockbuster Eras Tour, which ended last year after beginning in 2023 — the same year she and Kelce started dating.
“She tried to get to as many as she could last year and she came to a lot,” Kelce said. “We’ll have Tay representing over at Arrowhead [this season].”
The 14-time Grammy winner also attended Tight End University — a week-long event for NFL tight ends to bond and train in the offseason — in Nashville, where she put on a surprise performance of “Shake It Off” at a private concert for the players and friends with Kane Brown.
Kelce also reflected on the added attention and fame that came when he and Swift first got together.
“It’s just the paparazzi — that’s probably the only thing I didn’t really grasp until you’re in it,” Kelce said. “But that’s probably the craziest part though, like I’m just playing golf and all of a sudden in the trees there’s a f–king guy with a camera.”
Earlier in the podcast, Compton explained that Swift was kind to everyone and she was “nothing but class” at TEU.
“I will say, no matter what people say about Taylor Swift… This girl’s life is followed, and thumbed through like a microscope – the way she handled herself, she was obviously very gracious, very nice, super sweet to us… She’s hugging everybody,” Compton said.
“… It is insane how rabbit [Swift’s] fan base is and to operate the way she does, legitimately think she’s nothing but class.”
Following TEU, Kelce and Swift stepped out for a date night in New York City on Friday.
