Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are in the dark about The Summer I Turned Pretty.
The Chiefs official TikTok page posted a video on Thursday, August 21, asking the players to share their thoughts on the teen drama’s love triangle between Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and childhood friends Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher, played by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno. The football players were asked if they were Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad.
“What?” Kelce, 35, shouted in confusion as he walked away.
Multiple players asked what that question meant as they passed the camera. Others silently walked by with a confused look on their faces.
“Who are these people?” wide receiver Tyquan Thornton quipped.
Another player asked a teammate if they were on “Love Island or something.”
“Who are these individuals? I have no idea,” Chukwuebuka Godrick said.
However, quarterback Bailey Zappe restored our faith in the Chiefs when he knowledgeably answered the question.
“The wife would be mad if I said Jeremiah, so it has to be Conrad,” he told the camera.
Kelce walked by the camera again and made a joke about the question he was still confused by.
“You look like a Conrad,” the tight end teased someone out of frame who replied, “I don’t know what that means.”
Patrick Mahomes also shared that he was not familiar with The Summer I Turned Pretty.
“I don’t know what that is, I’m too old,” the quarterback, 29, said. “What the hell is Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah?”
At one point, Zappe, 26, came back with some of his teammates and gave them the lowdown on season 3.
“Just say you’re Team Conrad. Jeremiah cheated on Belly,” he advised.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is a TV series based on the best-selling book by Jenny Han of the same name. The Amazon show follows Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah as their families spend their summers at Cousins Beach. Belly has had a crush on Conrad throughout her childhood. When she turns 16, Belly draws interest from both Conrad and Jeremiah and falls in love with both of them.
Throughout the series, Belly struggles with which boy she wants to be with. The group also copes with grief following the death of the brothers’ mom Susannah, who was also an important figure in Belly’s life.
In season 3, which is currently airing, Belly is expected to make her decision on who she wants to be with.
