1587 Prime, the new steakhouse owned by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, is coming to Kansas City later this year, and the two Chiefs stars had a chance to sample the menu.

Mahomes, 29, and Kelce, 35, stopped by the restaurant, which posted a video of their experience via its Instagram account on Tuesday, July 29.

“We invited our friends, @patrickmahomes and @killatrav, for a first taste of the 1587 Prime menu,” the caption read. “Here’s how it went…”

The video then showed the two Super Bowl champions sampling just about everything, and while not every dish was named in the clip, the server presenting them seemed to use the word “butter” a lot.

The video also included a quick look at the menu. The visible listings included tajima wagyu beef, a chop salad with beef salami and chickpeas, togarashi fried chicken with wasabi honey and green onion, shrimp diablo, the 33 burger, and a steak flight.

“I just want to try them all,” Kelce could be heard saying.

“I could just tell from the first bite that that was going to be a ‘yeah,’” Mahomes added.

“Man that food was better than I could have imagined!! KC get ready baby!!” Kelce commented on the post, with Mahomes adding, “Coming soon..!! ⏰”

Mahomes and Kelce first announced they were teaming up with hospitality group Noble 33 to open the restaurant in March 2024. The 1587 Prime name is a combination of both of their jersey numbers, and the steakhouse will feature more nods to the pair’s football accolades when it opens. At the time of the announcement, the owners promised the 10,000-square-foot, two-floor facility located in the Loews Kansas City hotel would be the “ultimate experiential dining destination.”

“We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own Kansas City,” Kelce said in a statement.

“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes noted.

1587 Prime was initially scheduled to open in early 2025, but as of July 30, no official grand opening date has been announced. Kelce seemed to almost let the date slip in a June episode of his “New Heights” podcast, which he hosts with brother Jason Kelce.

“You already know, baby. Opening up … soon,” he said, appearing to catch himself.
