Emotions boiled over during a tense exchange between Travis Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on Sunday Night Football

Kelce, 35, and Reid, 67, bumped chests and got in each other’s faces during the Chiefs’ game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, September 21.

The spirited moment, caught on NBC cameras, happened during the second quarter of the game. Footage of the exchange was also shared via X.

“This is as we were in break on the sideline,” play-by-play analyst Mike Tirico said. “Andy Reid and Travis Kelce. We’ve seen them before kind of get heated there. You can sense the frustration on both sides of that story.”

The sideline scuffle came as the Chiefs continued to struggle to find their offensive mojo after starting the season 0-2 for the first time since 2014.

“Every week Travis Kelce screaming at somebody on his team lol,” one viewer commented via X.

Another wrote, “Travis Kelce complaining to Andy Reid when he’s the problem. Bro is WASHED. Can’t catch a simple screen pass.”

Kelce’s temper flared up for a second consecutive week, following a viral outburst during the team’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 14.

The superstar tight end was seen yelling, “I’m sick of this s***,” to his teammates during a break in play at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs lost to the Eagles, 20-17.

Kelce and Reid have a history of tense conversations on the football field, most notably during Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024.

During that exchange Kelce was seen grabbing Reid by the arm and screaming in his face. Kelce appeared to be upset that Reid decided to take him out of the game and eventually had to be pulled away from his head coach by a Chiefs teammate.

“Oh, you guys saw that?” Kelce joked to reporters after the game, in which the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, 25-22. “I’m gonna keep it between us unless my mic’d up

tells the world, but I was just telling him how much I love him.”

Reid also addressed the altercation during his press conference after the Super Bowl, joking that Kelce “keeps me young.”

“He caught me off balance,” Reid said. “Normally I’d give him a little bit [back], but I didn’t have [my] feet under me.”

Reid added at the time, “He was really coming over [and saying], ‘Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score.’ So, that’s really what it was. I love that. It’s not the first time. I appreciate him.”
