Dua Lipa is the epitome of “pop-star glam.” The 29-year-old Levitating singer always has a flawless face of makeup; majestic, shiny hair and so much swag. And while she obviously has a stylist (or more realistically, a few), it turns out that anyone can try out Dua Lipa’s red carpet hair and makeup look with the right makeup, hair products and some expert tips.

We spoke with Michelle Phillips, a seasoned makeup artist and beauty expert, who has styled Katie Couric, Clint Eastwood, Colby Caillat and more. From eyeliner to hair oil, Phillips talks about how to copy Dua Lipa’s hair and makeup, so you can dance the night away any day or night you want.

Dua Lipa’s Makeup Routine Takes 5 Simple Steps

“Dua Lipa’s look is all about bold confidence with a modern, edgy twist,” Phillips explains, offering a simple yet classic cool girl beauty routine.

1. Glowy Base: First, Phillips recommends blending in aa shimmering, light foundation, outward from the center. This corrects discoloration while adding a little radiance to your complexion.

“To recreate her glam, I recommend starting with a luminous base,” she says. “This gives that lit-from-within glow.”

2. Eye Opener: Next, you’ll create a winged liner look with Tarte’s Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner.

“This is one of my favorites for its precision and staying power,” Phillips adds.

3. Adding Depth: Eyeshadow isn’t mandatory, but if you’re going to use it, Phillips uses a gold and bonze four-shade palette. Having multiple complementary shades in one palette lets you get the blend right for your complexion.

4. Lash Queen: If you’re looking to add volume to your lashes, Phillips tends to reach for Tarte’s Tubing Mascara.

“I love it for defined lashes that last all day without smudging,” she says.

5. Glossy: “For lips, Dua often wears glossy nudes,” Phillips tells us. She recommended Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in Caresse, but it’s been discontinued. Bougeoise, Caramel and Noce Moscata are all in the same rich hued family and will gives you the same sultry yet neutral look.

Dua Lipa’s Hair in Two Easy Steps

“Hair-wise, Dua often has a beautiful sleek, glassy style,” Phillips tells us. This makes styling relatively straightforward, especially as she’s had many different colors, so whatever shade you’re rocking right now is just fine.

1. Gloss It: To smooth out for Dua’s classically glossy look, Phillips recommends using a regular flat iron. Go through your hair section by section until it’s universally straight and smooth.

2. Smooth It Out: Next, you’ll ruffle in a few drops of Keranique’s Radiant Repair Oil. Brush it through to ensure it’s evenly distributed throughout your hair. As usual, start at the roots and work your way out.

“It instantly smooths frizz, adds high-gloss shine, and nourishes the hair without weighing it down,” she explains. “It’s a must for achieving that luxe, camera-ready finish.”
