Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s daughter said she’s “reached the point of anger” after mulling over her father and Kamala Harris’ failed bid for the White House and that Americans do “not deserve” the vice president.
“I’ve officially reached the point of anger, and I’m not an angry person, so I’m just trying to channel it,” the 23-year-old said in a post on TikTok Thursday.
Hope unleashed her “initial post-election thoughts” while sitting on the couch, chowing down on some “SpongeBob mac and cheese” and watching the hit Netflix series “Outer Banks.”
She was quick to criticize the US for electing Donald Trump over her dad’s running mate during Tuesday’s election.
“This country does not deserve Kamala Harris. That woman should go live her best life wherever she wants doing whatever she wants because we don’t deserve her at this point,” she said.
“The only people who delivered this election were black women and we failed them.”
Hope called the loss “heartbreaking” and told Harris supporters and Democrats to “do whatever we can to support them and our people through these next four years” under the Trump administration.
She then slammed her father’s Republican opposition, President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance, who debated her dad in New York a month before the election.
“These people have to live in their own skin, as in JD Vance and Donald Trump have to be JD Vance and Donald Trump and that is not a punishment I’d wish upon anybody but those two individuals,” the 23-year-old said.
“I’m just really grateful I am who I am and I’m on the side of love and hope and joy and progress.”
Hope told her followers she’s giving herself “the week to be sad and to mourn what could’ve been, what should’ve been.”
“But that’s not where we are and that’s not reality. I’m giving myself the week to accept that and to be in it,” she said. “Then the work starts. We got this America. Going to be OK.”
Hope seemingly filmed the viral rant on the same day she shared a photo of the elder Walz lounging on a chair with his pet cat, “Honey,” in Minnesota.
“The Earth keeps spinning and we live to fight another day,” Hope wrote in her Instagram post.
The governor — wearing a Minnesota hoodie, gray pants, and white sneakers — is seen sitting in an armchair with “Honey” on his lap.
Hope posted a different video on her TikTok page in which she provided an update on how her dad was doing after the election day loss.
“Our dad is doing amazing,” she said, in a video shared by Libs of TikTok which has been viewed more than 2 million times. “He is ready to continue the fight here in Minnesota because it is going to be a safe place for every person. We’ll be OK. We’re going to be OK, everyone.”
The Democratic vice presidential candidate election woes didn’t end after voters overwhelmingly voted for the Republican ticket.
While Harris and Walz won his home state of Minnesota, President-elect Trump beat him outright in his home county.
Trump’s overwhelmingly successful win netted him 49.6% of the vote in Minnesota’s Blue Earth County, where Walz’s family lived for 20 years before he was elected governor.
Harris fell short with about 48.3% of the vote.
Minnesota’s 10 electoral votes ultimately went to Harris early Wednesday — but Trump still beat the Democratic ticket when he was the first to reach 270 electoral nods.
Though Minnesota was close to swinging right, the state traditionally backs Democratic candidates.
Following his defeat in the 2024 election, Walz will remain governor of the Land of 10,000 Lakes for two years.
