At the start of last season, Keon Johnson was unemployed and just hoping for a two-way contract.

Now? He’s sitting on a multi-year deal with the Nets, squarely in Jordi Fernandez’s rotation and shooting away for a coach who keeps encouraging him to let it fly.

But don’t think for a second he’s taking his newfound fortune for granted. He’s acutely aware nothing is promised or guaranteed.

“I wouldn’t necessarily call it a solidified role,” Johnson said with a shrug. “I’m just taking advantage of the moment I’m in now.
