Tom Thibodeau finished his final regular-season news conference Sunday reminding us that, just like the Knicks players, this isn’t our first rodeo.

“I know you guys are aware of that,” Thibodeau said about his rotations getting shorter in the postseason. “Being veteran experienced playoff writers, you understand that.”

Actually before Thibodeau, there was very little experience covering a hometown series. The Knicks had spent most of the previous two decades in purgatory, never once stringing together this type of current run of four postseason appearances over five years.

From 2001-23, the Knicks totaled one — yes, just one — playoff series victory. Even the Jets had more.
