Taylor Swift’s childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard shared an emotional update on her son, Bennett.

“Reflecting on this moment today… If you had told either of us what we were about to go through,” Anderson Berard, 35, captioned a Sunday, June 15, Instagram Reel of her and her husband Charles Berard in honor of Father’s Day. “I don’t think we would’ve believed you.”

She continued: “Months in a NICU in a different state, weeks of hospital stays and sleepless nights, and so many days of not knowing which way was up or forward.”

Anderson Berard explained that while the situation was tough Berard provided the strength to help them persevere.

“But this man never wavered, never flinched. Because that’s who he is — and that’s how he loves,” she gushed. “The past 10 months have been one realllllly long lesson in what truly matters. And he’s it. Happy Father’s Day to my life force.”

She added that she and Bennett “are doing just fine now.”

Anderson Berard announced in August 2024 that she welcomed Bennett “earlier than expected.”

“Baby boy decided to join us a few weeks earlier than expected,” she wrote alongside a photo of the newborn’s foot. “Our hearts are exploding with love. Welcome to the world Bennett, it’s entirely yours. 💙.”

One month before giving birth, Anderson Berard revealed that she was pregnant with her first child. In her official announcement, Anderson Berard made a sweet reference to Swift while showing off her baby bump.

“I’m having his babyyyy… 💙,” she captioned the post, which was a line from the pop star’s song “But Daddy I Love Him” from The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift, 35, took to the comments at the time to express her excitement for her longtime pal.

“When the internet says ‘MOTHER,’ I feel like this pic is actually what they mean,” she replied.

Anderson Berard and Swift have been friends since they were teenagers. Anderson Berard was the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Fifteen.”

“We were the ones in the back of the class saying negative things about Romeo and Juliet because we were so bitter toward that emotion at the time,” Anderson Berard recalled of her friendship with Swift during a 2008 appearance on Ellen. “We just really connected and ever since then we have been inseparable.”

As Swift went on to become the global superstar she is, her friendship with Anderson Berard has remained strong. Anderson Berard attended Swift’s Eras Tour in May 2023.
