Taylor Swift, like many Kansas City Chiefs fans, was “very stressed” during Super Bowl LVIII.

Swift, 35, recalled her experience at the NFL championship earlier this year while visiting pediatric patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City on Thursday, December 12.

“I don’t mind Brock Purdy,” Swift joked to one young fan, adding, “He put me through a lot last February, so I was very stressed for a second. It all ended up fine.”

Purdy, 24, is the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, who faced off against the Chiefs for the chance to clinch the Lombardi Trophy back in February. Swift, of course, is a Chiefs fan since her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is a tight end for the Missouri team.

Swift and Kelce, 35, have been dating for more than one year, often supporting one another at concerts and NFL games alike. While speaking to the pediatric patient, she agreed that Kelce is a top-notch athlete.

“I like Travis now,” the fan gushed.

Swift emphatically responded, “Yes, me too! That’s an absolute yes on that one,” before asking if Kelce was the child’s “favorite player.”

“Yes, he and Patrick [Mahomes],” the fan replied, referring to the Chiefs quarterback.

“Good answer,” Swift quipped. “You are acing this.”

Swift met many fans (and their equally Swiftie parents) on Thursday, signing copies of her official Eras Tour Book and posing for selfies. At one point, she jokingly held up a Chiefs rally towel that read, “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend.”

Swift admittedly wasn’t a football fan until she started dating Kelce — and now, she’s designing plays. (None of the pop star’s plays have been put into the Chiefs rotation yet.)

“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift told TIME in her 2023 Person of the Year profile. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

At every Chiefs game that Swift attended, fan footage captured her cheering on Kelce and his teammates. At the Super Bowl in February, she brought an A-list squad including Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice and more to root for the Missouri team.

Purdy, however, wasn’t nervous about Swift rooting for the opposition.

“If it comes down to it, Brock, and it’s late in the fourth quarter, are you prepared to disappoint Taylor Swift?” a sportscaster asked Purdy ahead of the big game.

With a smile, Purdy answered, “Yes, I’ll leave it at that.”

Purdy nearly got his wish as Super Bowl LVIII came down to the wire — and overtime. Ultimately, the Chiefs clinched a victory 25-22. Swift celebrated with Kelce on the field, punctuating the moment with a sweet sideline kiss.
