Taylor Swift gave an update on how her mom, Andrea, and dad Scott Swift are faring while appearing on Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.

“My dad had an interesting summer. He actually had a quintuple bypass surgery and that’s a really intense surgery,” the singer, 35, shared while speaking with Travis, also 35, and Jason, 37, during the Wednesday, August 13, episode of their show.

Taylor noted that things happened “really fast” as Scott, 73, had historically had a “perfect EKG” in his physicals over the years. However after undergoing a resting stress test, doctors found he had five blockages and advised him to get the procedure done right away.

“[Doctors we’re like], ‘We gotta do this tomorrow. We don’t know how you walked in here,” Taylor recalled.

Taylor explained that she and Travis, as well as her mom and brother were by her dad’s side help him with his recovery.

“We moved in with him for the whole summer pretty much. [He couldn’t] really walk on [his] own. We had a harness for my dad just walking dad on his harness,” she reflected. “He was like the loveliest patient ever. He kept saying thank you over and over again.”

She added her dad is now doing “incredible.” As for Andrea, Taylor shared that her mom is also doing “great” as well after undergoing a knee surgery.

“This was the summer of my parental upgrades,” Taylor joked. “We’re just upgrading the parents, making sure they live to be at least 186 years old because they are two of my best friends.”

Taylor added that she truly appreciated getting to spend some time with both her mom and dad.

Taylor’s appearance on “New Heights” comes nearly two years after she and Travis began dating in the summer of 2023. Throughout their romance, Taylor and her parents hav e regularly attending his Kansas City Chiefs games since that September. Most recently, the group was by Travis’ side when his team lost the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles in February.

While many NFL fans have embraced Swift’s involvement in the sport, some have complained about the attention she’s received while attending Travis’ games. However, she has brushed off the criticism on more than one occasion.

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she told Time in December 2023. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

She added, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

Prior to her “New Heights” debut, Swift joked in a teaser about appearing on the sports-centric show.

“Thanks for having me on my favorite podcast,” she said in the Wednesday clip shared via social media. “As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. And I think we all know that if there’s one thing male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
