With sports betting legal across dozens of states, every bet imaginable is available to wager on during Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans.

But only one is a true 50-50 bet that no amount of research or analysis can help with since it comes down to sheer luck.

That, of course, is the coin toss.

Bet365, DraftKings, and ESPN BET have the best odds on the pregame coin toss, offering +100 on heads and tails, meaning the sportsbooks aren’t forcing bettors to accept any vig on this pure-chance bet.

As the road team, the Chiefs will get their choice on which side of the coin they want when they battle the Eagles in the season’s final game for the second time in three seasons.

They’ve won the coin toss in each of their last three Super Bowl appearances during the Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce eras.

Kansas City lost the toss in 2020 against the 49ers before rallying for the 31-20 victory, the first championship of this dynasty stretch.

When these two teams met in Super Bowl 2023, the Chiefs won the toss after they correctly called tails.

The Chiefs won that thriller, 38-35.

Betting on the NFL?

Tails has proven to be a slightly better bet through nearly six decades of Super Bowl history.

In 58 Super Bowls, tails has been the right call 30 times — or 52 percent of the time.

Over the past 10 Super Bowls, tails has hit six times.

The Chiefs are small favorites over the Eagles while they go for the NFL’s first-ever Super Bowl three-peat, with bettors moving the line closer to pick’em status after its opening.
