DODGERS WIN! DODGERS WIN! DODGERS WIN!
What a game! Where do we begin?
I believe it was inning three when Bo “son of a” Bichette hit a three-run homer off Shohei Ohtani. The innings rolled by and the Jays led 4-2 heading into the eighth inning.
At that point, we were writing the Dodgers (and our) obituary.
And then … Max Muncy-mashed a Trey Yesavage pitch to make it 4-3. Miguel Rojas, yes, Miguel Rojas, took Jeff Hoffman deep to tie the score in the ninth inning.
The Blue Jays loaded the bases in the bottom half but Andy Pages made a season-saving catch at the wall to end the threat.
Move to the 11th inning.
Will Smith slapped a homer off Shane Bieber to put the Dodgers up 5-4.
Heroes all, but none bigger than Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched 2 ²/₃ innings on just 24 hours’ rest and got Alejandro Kirk to hit into a season-ending double play for the ages.
We made $600 in Game 7.
