Stefon Diggs’ standing with the Patriots may not be as secure as some might think.

The star wide receiver landed himself in some hot water earlier this week when video emerged of him joining rumored girlfriend Cardi B for a boat outing.

He was seen speaking to other women with a curious pink substance present over Memorial Day weekend.

This all happened before Diggs missed time at the Patriots’ voluntary OTAs after signing a three-year, $63.5 million contract with the franchise in the offseason.

It remains to be seen if Diggs ever plays a game for New England, as one of the team’s insiders believes the Patriots cutting ties isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

“I came to this show yesterday with the opinion — not opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table,” Scott Zolak, a member of New England’s radio broadcast team, said of Diggs potentially being cut during his weekday radio program on 98.5 The Sports Hub this week. “That it is being thought of.”

And if the Patriots do part ways with Diggs, it could be over more than the boat festivities.

“It’s not just the boat,” Zolak added. “There are some other things that I’ve heard that put some things in question. Are you all-in here?”

Diggs is coming off a season with the Texans that was limited to just eight games after he tore his ACL in Octobe. He complied 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns.

The Athletic reported this week that Diggs could be “reasonably” ready to take the field again by Week 4, as the Patriots and first-year coach Mike Vrabel look to give quarterback Drake Maye more weapons.

Whether Diggs gets that chance remains to be seen, but his talent and contract could make it harder for the Patriots to just say goodbye.

“It’s something that we’re aware of,” Vrabel told reporters Wednesday of the Diggs video. “Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field.”
