As the camera focused on Gary Striewski and Randy Scott on Friday morning, the latter had his arms wrapped around Striewski’s waist. The two swayed for a couple of seconds before Striewski covered his face and turned away while Scott shrunk to the ground.
“Uh, it’s time to ‘Kiss It Goodbye’,” Scott said, passing it along to the show’s home run-focused segment. “Baseball’s probably not the only thing you could say that about recently.”
The funny moment mimicked the recent viral jumbo screen video that caught Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his head of HR, Kristin Cabot, sharing an intimate embrace at a Coldplay concert on Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Coldplay front man Chris Martin said after the awkward moment — and he couldn’t have been more right.
Byron and Cabot were soon found out, exposing an alleged affair as Byron is married to a different woman.
The moment took over the internet on Thursday and quickly became one of the memes of the year.
