Sophie Cunningham isn’t taking her fine quietly.

The Fever star hit out at the WNBA after she was fined $500 for a TikTok she posted last week, where she seemingly took a shot at referees, with a post on X on Wednesday.

“I got fined $500 for this TikTok,” Cunningham wrote on X, along with two crying laugh emojis while sharing the video. “idk why this is funny to me… like ok you got it bud! Cause there’s not more important things to be worried about with our league right now.”

In the video, Cunningham lip-synched the words to Sabrina Carpenter’s song “Manchild” and had the words written the words “@ some refs.”

“Stupid. Or is it slow? Maybe, it’s useless,” Carpenter sings in the portion of the song that Cunningham used in her post.

It wasn’t totally clear what Cunningham was referring to when she said the league had “more important” things to deal with, but there are high-profile CBA negotiations between the WNBA and the players union.

Over the weekend, Cunningham had a fiery response to a reporter’s question about the number of games in the WNBA season.

“You can just tell [commissioner] Cathy [Engelbert] to pay us, and then we can have a discussion,” Cunningham said at Sunday’s Fever practice.

Cunningham was fined last month for her role in a fiery incident during the Sun-Fever game, where she defended Clark after she was hit in the eye by Sun guard Jacy Sheldon.

She hit out at the refs afterward as well with postgame comments.

“During that, it was just part of the game. I think the refs had a lot to do with that,” she said. “It was a build-up for a couple [of] years now of them just not protecting the star player of the WNBA. At the end of the day, I’m going to protect my teammates.

“That’s what I do.”
