Christian Pulisic’s ex-girlfriend, pro golfer Alexa Melton, is clearing the air about what she said was “false info” she received regarding the soccer star joining a dating app before they broke up.
“l’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context,” Melton, 25, wrote via her Instagram Story on Thursday, April 9. “I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine.”
She added, “Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter.”
Melton raised eyebrows on Monday, April 6, during an interaction with a fan in her Instagram comments who called the couple’s split a “generational fumble will be studied for years to come🔥.”
The LPGA Tour hopeful replied with, “how many likes to post his raya profile,” later adding that Pulisic, 27, was on the private, member-based dating app “before it even ended.”
Alleged screenshots of Pulisic’s Raya profile have since begun circulating on social media.
Pulisic and Melton were first linked in June 2024 when they were spotted together at the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament. Melton posted a photo from the event via Instagram, officially confirming their relationship. That post has since been deleted.
Melton later returned the favor, showing up routinely at Pulisic’s AC Milan matches in Italy and at the club’s 125th-anniversary event in December 2024.
Pulisic confirmed in his 2024 Paramount+ docuseries PULISIC that the two first connected when he slid into her DMs.
Neither party has confirmed when the breakup occurred, but rumors around Pulisic’s love life swirled in December 2025 when he had to take to Instagram to shoot down talk that he was dating actress Sydney Sweeney.
“Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor,” Pulisic wrote in the comments under a post from Motivating Sport about the rumor.
“Also please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” he later wrote via his Instagram Story. “Need to hold sources accountable, it can affect people’s lives.”
The rumor came not only while Pulisic was, presumably, still in a relationship with Melton, but as Sweeney, 28, is dating businessman Scooter Braun. A source told Us Weekly in a story published Wednesday, April 8 that Sweeney and Braun’s relationship is “the real deal.”
“People around them thought that this would be just a fling, but they are committed,” the source said, adding that the couple is “basically inseparable when they are both in L.A.”
