Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown put back on her wedding dress nine years later — and after losing almost 100 pounds.
“I pulled out my wedding dress just to try it on for fun. It fit perfectly on the day of my wedding,” Brown, 29, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, October 12. “I tried it on in 2019, pre my first pregnancy, and it didn’t zip up even half way because of the weight I’d gained. I tried it on during my pregnancy with the twins, it fit perfectly again!”
She continued, “Now, there is a huge gap in the dress, and it was barely staying up. I love that I got to feel like a princess again while I wore it.”
Brown married Antonio Padron in December 2016, wearing a stunning strapless ballgown. The couple later welcomed daughter Avalon in April 2021 and twin sons Archer and Ace in November 2022. Since giving birth to the twins, Brown has lost her pregnancy weight.
“There’s a lot of gap in there,” Padron, 30, told Brown in a Sunday TikTok video, seeing her back in the bridal gown. “Holy cow! That’s a couple inches for sure.”
Brown, one of the daughters of exes Kody and Christine Brown, further explained that “this is what 100 pounds looks like.”
“She’s still got it,” Padron marveled at his wife, reiterating his excitement in the comments section, writing, “Dammmmm. I can’t even tell you how fun and nostalgic this was.”
Mykelti had previously been candid about her weight loss journey, revealing in February 2024 that she reached her goal.
“Two and a half years later, I’ve hit my original GOAL. I ‘started’ my weight loss journey late fall of 2021, weighing 270 pounds. I got pregnant with my twins (unexpectedly) early spring 2022, weighing 245 pounds,” Mykelti wrote via Instagram at the time. “Obviously, my journey to a healthier me was changed. November 2022 right before delivery with my sons, [and] I was back up to weighing 275 pounds. My body deserved a break and a reset. I just enjoyed my babies while I recovered until January 2023, weighing 230 pounds.”
After recovering from childbirth, Mykelti reprioritized her wellness journey.
“I’ve been consuming a low-calorie, high-protein diet for just over a year now. I take a gut health supplement that helps my body keep the nutrients from food and shed the crap,” she explained last year. “It’s been a lot of work and determination. I’ve tried many different recipes and found the restaurants that best meet my needs. [It’s] February 2024, and I currently weigh 160 pounds. I’m not done yet!!! It’s time to start bulking up my muscle.”
According to Mykelti, her “longterm goal” is to be able to “live a long life” and keep up with her three children.
“I feel better with more energy and higher endurance than ever,” she added, praising Padron’s support throughout the process. “Tony and I have been a constant team through this helping and encouraging one another.”
Padron, for his part, has also slimmed down since marrying Mykelti.
“I’ve made some changes and I’m getting closer and closer to a nicer shape,” he wrote via Instagram in July 2023. “The key, I think, is longevity and consistency.”
