Simone Biles doesn’t seem bothered by the chatter surrounding her attire for husband Jonathan Owens’ Bears preseason game on Saturday.
The 11-time Olympic medalist gymnast — who drew the ire of some NFL fans for wearing a Packers jacket to a contest featuring Green Bay’s loathed rival Chicago — posted a series of pics Sunday from her time at Soldier Field, where Owens and the Bears toppled the Bengals, 27-3, in their third preseason contest.
Captioning the Instagram post, “Bear down” — a nod to the team’s motto — Biles, 27, is seen posing inside a suite before cozying up to Owens, a six-year safety who signed with Chicago in the offseason after spending 2023 in Green Bay.
Biles, fresh off her four-medal performance at the Paris Olympics, was criticized for wearing an Owens-inspired jacket of highlights from his season with the Packers while on the Bears sideline.
“It’s ridiculously unaware of your surroundings and insulting to her husband,” one X user posted.
“Ummm… he’s on the bears,” another replied.
Others, meanwhile, told critics to take the trolling down a notch.
“She cares about her husband more than a joke of a rivalry, get over it,” a separate X user posted.
“It’s not that serious,” another penned.
Owens and Biles have long been one another’s biggest cheerleaders.
The 29-year-old NFL star was granted permission by the Bears to travel to Paris to support Biles, who dominated the gymnastics competition three years after her “twisties” saga in Tokyo.
Owens was photographed at Bercy Arena in France, where Biles took gold in the team and individual all-around events, as well as the vault final. She was awarded the silver medal for the floor exercise final.
“Greatness,” Owens gushed on Instagram on Aug. 2. “I love you so much baby. You accomplish whatever you set your mind to, and do it with so much grace. 9 time Olympic medalist and counting!!!! So proud to be your husband.”
Biles and Owens have been married since last year.
The Bears will host the Titans in their season opener on Sept. 8.
